Rose is originally from the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht. She attended University College Cork where she completed a B.A. in Irish and Economics, a Higher Diploma in Computing and an M.A. in Multimedia Technology. She attained first class honours in the M.A. she completed in 2005 entitled Ról na Teicneolaíochta i Múineadh agus i bhFoghlaim Teanga ag díriú go speisialta ar an nGaeilge.
She spent six years working in Ionad na Gaeilge Labhartha in University College Cork where she was involved in both Irish and Multimedia Technology courses, all of which were delivered through the medium of Irish.
Rose commenced employment with Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge in August 2007 and teaches various aspects of the following courses: Dioplóma Iarchéime / M.A. (Léann an Aistriúcháin), Céim sna Dána (Léann an Aistriúcháin) and Dioplóma sna Dána (Scileanna Aistriúcháin), M.A. i dTeagasc Teangacha (An Ghaeilge).
Rose has a particular interest in Computer-Assisted Translation, Computer-Assisted Learning, Subtitling and Multimedia Technology. She is currently completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She is a member of the ILTA (Irish Learning Technology Association) steering committee.
