Biography

Eoin Whelan has been a lecturer in information systems at the National University of Ireland, Galway since 2005. He is also undertaking a PhD with the Centre for Innovation & Structural Change in the same institution, studying how ICT impacts the role of technological gatekeepers.

Prior to joining NUI Galway, Eoin worked as a management accountant in Ireland, New Zealand, and the United States. He earned his Master’s degree by research from the University of Limerick in 2002 and was awarded the Government of Ireland Scholarship in Humanities and Social Sciences for this research. His research interests include: all aspects of knowledge management systems, organizational network analysis and ICT-enabled forms of collaboration.
