Biography
Martin Fahy is a statutory lecturer in Management Information Systems at National University of Ireland, Galway. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a Ph.D in information systems from University College Cork. Prior to joining NUI, Galway he worked as a management consultant with KPMG. In addition to his post at Galway, Martin is also an adjunct professor at the Universite d’Auvergne in France.
Martin was a senior Fulbright scholar at the College of Business Montana State University in 1999. In 2002 he was awarded the Institute of Chartered Accountants award for excellence in accounting education.
He has written extensively on the areas of Business Information Systems, ERP systems and emerging issues in Finance. His most recent books include
Enterprise Resource Planning Systems: Leveraging the Benefits for Business (a joint venture with CIMA and PWC),
Strategic Enterprise Management Systems (recently published in US and Australia) and
Shared Services: An Executive Briefing (co-authored with Andrew Kris and published by FT Pearson). He sits on a number of scientific committees and is the convenor of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Strategic Enterprise Management roundtable. Martin is a member of the board of the Shared Services Business Process Outsourcing Association (SBPOA) in Brussels and acts as advisor for European Affairs.
