Safety Committee

Safety Committee and Safety Working Group 

The Support Services Committee is the NUI Galway Safety Committee.  In addition the Safety Working Group reports to this Committee and its brief is to consider operational, policy and technical issues and is chaired by the Executive Director of Operaitons who is also the Director of Safety. The main objectives of the Safety Committee and the Safety Working Group is on behalf of the Governing Authority to "provide an organisational structure which ensures the safety, health and welfare at work of the staff, students and authorised visitors to the University".
The current membership of the Safety Working Group is as follows:

• Biological Safety Adviser (in attendance)

The Safety Working Group has two sub-committees addressing:
Radiation
and
Biological Safety and GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms)
