FETAC Students
Holders of recognised FETAC qualifications, with appropriate modules and who achieve a minimum of five distinctions, may be admitted onto certain degree based programmes at NUI Galway on a competitive basis.

Q. What are the entry requirements for FETAC applicants?
A. Applicants who have an appropriate FETAC (Level 5 / 6) qualification and have achieved distinctions in a minimum of five modules will be considered for entry to certain NUI Galway Courses, e.g. General Arts, Commerce, Business Information Systems, Science and Nursing.
Q. How many places are available on courses for FETAC applicants?
A. As the number of places is limited, applicants are admitted on a competitive basis to designated courses based on the student’s scores. Quotas for FETAC applicants are as follows:
Arts (GY101) 20 places
Business Information Systems (GY206) 5 places
Commerce (GY201) 10 places
Nursing (GY515/GY516/GY517) 2 places across three courses
Science (GY301) 10 places

A. Application is made through the
CAO.
