The Irish Embassy in Madrid and the Spanish Irish Business Network are pleased to announce that Pan Alumni networking events will take place simultaneously this year on 19th January in Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Marbella and Valencia. All events will kick off at 20.30.
Graduates of all Irish universities are invited to get together to meet like-minded people and bring along friends who also have an affinity for Ireland. The profile will be mixed: people who have lived in Spain for years and are very settled, as well as newer arrivals and also others temporarily passing through, with everyone paying for their own food and drink.

NUI Galway in association with Mayo County Council is delighted to announce an ‘Evening of Conversation’ with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd and journalist and author Niall O'Dowd. The special event will take place on Monday, 25 June at 6:30pm at the Museum of Country Life, Turlough Park House, Castlebar, Co. Mayo and coincides with Maureen Dowd’s conferral with an honorary degree by NUI Galway later in the week. The event will be followed by a Civic Reception honouring Ms Dowd who traces her Irish heritage to Co. Clare and Co. Mayo, from where her mother’s family, the Meenehans of Ballinrobe, emigrated.

In the Ideas Lab see NUI Galway's 3D View of the Universe, demonstrations and talks on goal line technology, wind and ocean energy, car technology, breast cancer detection techniques, smartphone technology, computer modelling of coastal waters.
The Exploration Zone will have interactive demos and exhibitions including footage from underwater expeditions, marine creasters and touch tanks, seaweed exploration, Frog TV, Oceanographic equipment, kitchen chemistry.
In the Creatvity Zone view some fun creativity exhibits including film sets and films from our Film School, archive exhibits and drama.
The Innovation Zone has exhibits and displays on the lates medical technologies, information technology, energy and the environment, and engineering the future.
In the Global Zone, try out the global business simulation game.

NUI Galway Alumni Awards 2013
The 2013 NUI Galway Alumni Awards will be presented at the annual Alumni Awards Gala Banquet on Saturday, 9 March, 2013. The Gala Banquet will again be held in the Bailey Allen Wing located in Áras na Mac Léinn on campus.
The Alumni Awards recognise individual excellence and achievements among the University’s more than 70,000 graduates worldwide.
The Awards programme boasts an impressive roll call of 74 outstanding graduates who have gone on to honour their alma mater, including, for example, Michael D. Higgins, Ciarán FitzGerald, Sean O’Rourke, Professor Frank Gannon, Dr Luke Clancy and Gráinne Seoige.

Biochemistry is 50 years old at NUI Galway, and a scientific symposium and gala dinner is being held on Thursday July 10th, 2014 to celebrate. All past and current students and staff are invited to attend.
A variety of speakers representing the history of Biochemistry will talk about the influence on their careers and where it has led them.
There will also be a chance to see the new home of Biochemistry in the Bioscience Research Building, and a gala dinner will also be held in the Ardilaun Hotel in the evening.

NUI Galway invites alumni throughout the world to celebrate their connection with the University by sharing in NUI Galway's Open Day on Saturday 4th October.
The day will feature tours of the campus, including new research facilities and taster sessions of NUI Galway programmes.
A special series of lectures for alumni will take place in the Aula Maxima, the Quadrangle Building. Alumni and friends are invited to attend these sessions either in person or by live webcast online here:
