NUI Galway Alumni Social Networking Sites

NUI Galway Alumni Office has two Alumni Networking Sites, Facebook and Linkedin. They were established in 2008.

Facebook is one of the most popular social networking websites. It was set up in 2004 and currently has more than 500 million active users worldwide.

Users can join networks organised by city, workplace, school, college, and region to connect and interact with other people.

There are currently almost 700 members in the NUI Galway/UCG Facebook site (December 2010).

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site launched in May 2003. It is mainly used for professional networking.

As of September 2010, it had more than 80 million registered users, spanning 170 industries.

The NUI Galway LinkedIn site has 2317 members (November 2010). Overall there are 10021 LinkedIn members who are NUI Galway / UCG Graduates.
