Fáilte chuig an céad eagrán de e-nuachtlitir na gcéimithe de 2007.
Welcome to the first Alumni Links of 2007. We can look forward to an exciting year.
The annual Alumni Awards take place on Saturday, March 3rd at the University's Gala Banquet. This year's awardees are listed below. The Gala celebrates the excellence of our graduates. Through the presentation of the annual Alumni Awards Programme, we celebrate the achievements of the many generations of students who remain connected to their alma mater as distinguished alumni. The NUI Galway Alumni Awards recognise the many Galway alumni who are leaders in their professions and excel in their pursuits at national and international levels.
The theme of this year's Gala is ALIVE(A Learning Initiative & Volunteering Experience). The theme is chosen to represent a campus-wide activity that reflects the University's strategic priorities. ALIVE with its emphasis on student volunteering and community engagement is a very natural choice.
The annual reunion is now just a few months away and I hope you will be able to join us for this increasingly popular event, to meet your former classmates and renew your connections to your alma mater.
Professor Ger Hurley, PhD 1988
Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs

Helen Brett, BA 1980, has written and directed
Three Women, True Life Tales of World War II, a play which she is now bringing on tour from Perth, Western Australia, to the West and Northwest of Ireland in May 2007.
’It’s a play that touches a chord with many people concerning the lives of real people, a girl growing up in Hitler’s Germany, a young Dutch woman interned by the Japanese in Java and an Australian woman in the Australian Women’s Army’. It deals with universal themes of love and family and difficult moral choices.
The Irish tour for Three Women commences with a gala opening in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway, on Friday 4 May, followed by performances in the Linen Hall, Castlebar, Ballinasloe Community Group. Details will be available in local press. Click here for further information.
