Irish Centre for Human Rights 10th Anniversary
The Irish Centre for Human Rights welcomed its first LLM students in September 2000 and will host a series of events to celebrate ten years of the Centre’s teaching, research and advocacy. The main 10th anniversary event is a major academic conference by the Irish Centre for Human Rights, on the theme of “Forgotten Rights, Forgotten Concepts”. This will encompass a number of original human rights issues across a broad spectrum which the speakers feel have fallen out of favour or been overlooked. The Conference will be held on campus on 19 and 20 November 2010, and will include many distinguished academics and friends of the Irish Centre for Human Rights. Read on. |

Dublin Alumni Club presents…Festive Favourites with Tenor David O’Leary and the NUI Galway Chamber Orchestra plus special guests
A festive evening of carols and festive favourites in the magnificent setting of St. Ann's Church, Dawson Street. With arrangements by Cohen, Rosenhaus and Ryden, this concert will mark the first Christmas performance for the New York-based O'Leary on home soil. Alumni Networks in Spain
The Spanish-Irish Business Network (SIBN) was launched in January 2008 to promote business links between Spain and Ireland. The Network has organised two pan-alumni social events that will take place on Thursday 20th January from 8.00pm at the James Joyce Irish Pub, Alcalá 59 in Madrid and at The Michael Collins, Placa de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Soccer Club ReunionThe NUI Galway Soccer Club hosted a Reunion Banquet at the Ardilaun Hotel, Taylor’s Hill in August. The reunion included a golf tournament in Glenlo Abbey, a soccer match in Dangan plus a tour of the campus.
