Cumann Caoga Bliain / 50 Year Club
The Fifty Year Club, or
Cumann Caoga Bliain, was initiated at Reunion Weekend 2000 with the presentation of personalised certificates to attending alumni who graduated fifty years ago or more. All alumni who fit into this category are automatically considered members of this prestigious association, totalling over 4,250 alumni to date! Each April at a luncheon and each June at Reunion Weekend, new members are invited back to their
alma mater and are welcomed into the
Cumann Caoga Bliain by the University President Dr Iognáid Ó Muircheartaigh and the Alumni Association.
Cumann Caoga Bliain was established to nurture an active and mutually beneficial relationship between NUI Galway and all its senior graduates around the world. It engages graduates in programmes run by the University but above all, it affords the University an opportunity to honour the history and achievements of its alumni.
