Saturday June 5th, 2010 The classes of 2000 and 2005 returned to NUI Galway to celebrate their 5 and 10 year reunion on the June bank holiday weekend. The celebrations were held in the Students' Union Bar with a BBQ on the patio overlooking the Corrib. The night finished up to the sounds of the late nineties and early noughties. | |

Friday April 9th, 2010 Over 100 graduates and friends attended the annual Cumann Caoga Bliain (50 Year Club) reunion in NUI Galway on 9th April. Now in its 10th year, Cumann Caoga Bliain was established to encourage and maintain the relationship that our senior alumni have with their alma mater. The programme includes a reception, a bus tour of campus, a photographic exhibition, a remembrance mass, and a Reunion Ball in the former Great Southern Hotel (The Meyrick) – site of many memories from Balls held in the 1950s and before. This year's event was attended by alumni whose graduation years ranged from 1937 to the 1960s. The most senior attendee was Mrs Maureen O’Sullivan Hancock, a science graduate from 1937 aged 94, who upon arrival remarked with a wink “So where is the rest of my class?” |

1978 / 1979 Reunion | |

Almost €3,000 was raised for charity by the alumni of 1978 and 1979, friends, hangers-on and various fellow-travellers who gathered for their second reunion in two years. A jam-packed day and night of events included a "far from whimsical talk" by Hubert McDermott on James Joyce's The Dead, Lit & Deb, Speedie's Slideshow, Comedy Drama, traditional Seisiuin, The Fuze, Big G's 70's Disco and various other shenanigans... 1984 and 1989 Reunions | |

Saturday 7th November, 2009 Over 300 alumni from the classes of 1984 and 1989 returned to Galway to celebrate their 25th and 20th reunions in November. Eighty graduates joined together for a buffet lunch in the Aula Maxima where they were welcomed back to their alma mater by the Alumni Office and enjoyed a bus tour of a radically developed campus. The classes gathered together again that evening for a reunion dinner in the Meyrick Hotel (formerly the Great Southern) with entertainment provided by Marc Roberts and DJ Kevin Belton. Over 60 alumni from the class of 1969 returned to campus to celebrate their 40th reunion in October. Graduates joined together for a reception in the Aula Maxima where they were welcomed back to their alma mater by University President Dr James Browne and enjoyed a bus tour of a radically developed campus.
The class gathered together again that evening for a reunion dinner in the Galway Bay Hotel with entertainment provided by Marc Roberts.
Over 30 alumni from the Engineering Class of 1974 returned to Galway to attend their 35th Reunion in October. The attendees, which included NUI Galway President, Dr Jim Browne, BE 1974, MEngSc 1978, PhD 1980, DSc 1990, enjoyed a tour of the University campus. Their celebrations culminated with a reunion dinner in the Radisson Blu Hotel.
Over150 alumni from the classes of 1999 and 2004 returned to campus to celebrate their 5 and 10 year reunion in June. Festivities took place in the Students' Union Bar overlooking the River Corrib, with entertainment provided by DJ Brick Flanders.

Over 120 graduates and friends attended the annual Cumann Caoga Bliain event in NUI Galway on Saturday 18th April. The Cumann Caoga Bliain was initiated in 2000 by the University's Alumni Office and was established to encourage and help maintain the relationship that our senior alumni have with their alma mater. The programme of events includes a reception, a bus tour of campus, a photographic exhibition and much more. Since its inception, this club has grown with more alumni returning to campus each year resulting in the reunion dinner taking place off-campus for the first time in the Meyrick Hotel.
This year's event was attended by alumni whose graduation years ranged from 1936 to 1962. The most senior attendee was Ms Anne Byrne, a commerce graduate from 1936 and an arts graduate from 1937 who travelled from Co Longford to celebrate the 73rd year of her graduation.
