NUI Galway Dublin Alumni Club presents… Colm Murray in Conversation with Sean O’Rourke200 alumni and friends gathered in the Press Conference Room of the Aviva Stadium on June 16th to listen to veteran sportscaster Colm Murray talk about his life and times to friend and colleague Sean O’Rourke. Colm discussed his childhood in Moate, life at NUI Galway, careers, both as a secondary school teacher and as a much loved sports presenter on RTÉ, and the onset of Motor Neuron Disease. A recording of this event will be broadcast on RTÉ radio later this summer and a video from the evening's proceedings will be available shortly.

NUI Galway Dublin Alumni Club presents… A Taste of DublinForty alumni and friends enjoyed the multitude of exhibition stands and demonstrations at this year's Taste of Dublin Festival on June 9th. The live music, al fresco dining and wine tastings made for a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks again to the Dublin Alumni Club for organising the event!

NUI Galway European Alumni Club Launch in BrusselsEuropean Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Máire Geoghegan-Quinn officially launched NUI Galway’s European Alumni Club in Brussels on June 21st. This is the first NUI Galway Alumni Club established in Europe by the University’s Alumni Association and NUI Galway alumni based in Brussels and throughout Europe were invited to reconnect with fellow graduates and their alma mater. Future alumni events will be planned for other cities across Europe. The launch reception was hosted by Irish Ambassador Tom Hanney at The Embassy of Ireland, Brussels and was attended by University President Dr Jim Browne and 50 alumni and friends.
