Donor Programme
Anatomy is the study of the structure of the human body, and is a vital part of medical training and education.
Any individual may bequeath their body, after their death, to the anatomy department of a medical school. Body donation is a most generous and charitable gesture and it is with deep gratitude that we at Anatomy, NUI Galway, accepts bequests of this manner, for they help us train the future generation of medical doctors and medical scientists.
What next?
Having the intention to donate your body to medical science after death recorded in your will is not adequate; you must be registered with one of the 5 medical colleges:
Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, National University of Ireland, Galway, and University College Cork. The general practice is to donate to the college nearest your normal place of residence. Please
