Following initial training in Medicine, at the University of Manchester, UK, (Bachelor of Medical Science (B.Med.Sci) in Medical Sciences), Louise pursued postgraduate study with The Open University, UK gaining both a Masters of Science (MSc) with Distinction, in Medicinal Chemistry, Science Education and Imaging in Medicine; and a Masters degree in Education (M.Ed) specialising in child development. She joined NUI Galway in 2006 after securing a departmental scholarship with the School of Medicine, Division of Psychiatry to pursue her PhD in Neuroimaging. For the past 3 years, alongside her doctoral research and contributions to the development of the Clinical Neuroimaging Lab, she has also provided teaching support for the Division of Anatomy, as both a neuroanatomy demonstrator and since April 2009 in an academic lecturing position. She teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, primarily on the topics of neuroanatomy and neuroimaging. |
