graduate programmes in Archaeology at Nui Galway
The Department of Archaeology at N.U.I. Galway has a strong commitment to graduate research and offers four graduate study programmes to suitably qualified applicants.
We offer our PhD research students extensive individual and group supervision. Technical support is being provided for fieldwork, and structured modules offer possibilities to upgrade practical skills in for example geophysical surveying.
The M.A .in Landscape Archaeology and the M.Litt. in Archaeology allow graduates with degrees which include archaeology to further their studies at graduate level. These programmes will provide students with more in-depth knowledge and understanding of the past. As part of the programmes students will acquire increased analytical skills, and you are offered possibilities to learn valuable practical skills such as GIS, oral presentation and academic writing.
For graduates from disciplines other than archaeology, the Department offers a Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) in Archaeology to allow interested students to move into archaeological research.
