The programme is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme (lectures are held during the day throughout the week) and is open to students with a degree in any discipline (other than Archaeology) who wish to acquire an academic qualification in archaeology. A basic knowledge of and interest in the subject is desirable. The programme offers a thorough grounding in aspects of Irish and European archaeology to BA degree level and is based on existing undergraduate courses in Archaeology with additional work. Students will take an approved selection of 12 modules within the Second and Third Year BA programme.
An information session will be held in the Department Library (ARC202) on Thursday September 8th, 2011 at 3 pm for H. Dip students.
The HDipA (Archaeology) will provide students with a qualification in the subject and offers the prospect of progression to postgraduate studies.
60 ECTS.

Applicants must have a primary degree in any discipline other than Archaeology.
Selection is based on the candidate’s academic record and their aptitude for the course.
End-of-term examinations; essay, and project work.
