An Introductory session in Archaeology will take place on Monday 12th of September from 10 am to 11 am in lecture theatre IT250 (1st Floor) of the Information Technology Building.
This introductory lecture will be repeated on three more occasions: at 1pm on Monday in the same location, on Tuesday at 10 am in the O hEocha lecture theatre in the Arts Millennium building, and again at 10 am on Wednesday in IT250 (1st Floor) of the Information Technology Building.
Your first course in Archaeology will be on Prehistoric Ireland and Europe (AR113) and will begin on Monday, September 19th, at 10 am in IT250 on the first floor.
There are three archaeology modules in First Year, one of which is based on seminar work and two of which are lecture-based. First Year Archaeology students have four lectures per week:
In addition, students are required to attend a series of seminars during the course of the year. The two lecture-based modules are examined through written examinations at the end of their respective semesters, while the seminar-based course, which extends through both Semester 1 and Semester 2, is examined by a process of continuous assessment.
