The Computer and IT Office of the College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies is an accredited ECDL test centre. The ECDL establishes a measurable standard for everyone who uses a computer in either a professional or personal capacity. It is a certificate that verifies competence in computer use, and is an internationally recognised certificate. The courseware can be used by all NUIG staff and students via your Blackboard login. Please click on the 'self-enrol' button at the top of the page for instructions on accessing the ECDL Core, and ECDL Advanced, self-study course. You are free to use the training material simply as a learning resource. There is a charge ONLY if you wish to register as an ECDL candidate, complete the exams, and gain the ECDL (Core or Advanced) certificate. We offer students and staff the opportunity to gain the ECDL qualification at a nominal cost. Students use on-line training facilities to study modules in their own time. Exams are carried out (also on-line) in the Computer Training Room. On completion of the 7 ECDL modules, students will receive an ECDL certificate. | ||

Exams are held each week at varying times, to suit different timetables. Please sign up for exams after you have registered and paid the registration fee. Sign up on the ECDL training course on Blackboard. This test centre uses an automated testing system. Candidates undertake a test on a computer, which then automatically assesses the candidate's performance, and provides immediate pass/fail feedback to both the centre and the candidate. |
