I am a post-doctoral research fellow in the Lowndes Lab. I performed my undergraduate training in Limerick where I studied Industrial Biochemistry. From there I traveled to Scotland to do my Ph.D. in the laboratory of Dr. Neil Perkins working on transcriptional regulation of the cell cycle. I joined the Lowndes laboratory in October 2004 and work on a project involving the biochemical characterisation of DNA damage response proteins isolated from chicken DT40 cells. I spend my spare time, playing squash and checking out new bands that come to Galway.
