New scientific updates are available on the Groundwater group's publication webpage (Conference article on Bell Harbour hydrogeology, Groundwater newsletter article on a geophysical survey conducted on a turlough, and a poster on geophysical techniques used to investigate groundwater flow paths in karst).

A new image is available on the Groundwater group's progress webpage of a geophysical survey conducted on the Caherglassaun turlough, Co. Galway.

An article about a recent survey of Irish wrecks located in Cork Harbour is available online. Garret Duffy, a member of the Biogeoscience Marine group was part of the survey team.

Updates on the habitat suitability project are now available on the Marine group's progress page. Two posters related to the project have now been uploaded and are available on the Marine group's publications page.

Two new posters are availble for download on the Griffith Groundwater group's publication webpage.  The first poster (Petrunic et al., 2011) is focused on the groundwater geochemistry in the Burren and Gort lowlands.  The second poster (O'Connell et al., 2010) is focused on geophysical surveys that have been conducted in the coastal regions of the Burren and Gort Lowlands.

Siddhi Joshi, a PhD student in the Griffith Marine group, was awarded Best Poster at the 54^th Irish Geological Research Meeting (IGRM) held in February 2011 at NUI Galway.  Her poster was entitiled "Coupled hydrodynamic-sediment transport modelling and habitat modelling in Galway Bay, West of Ireland".  She is supervised by Garret Duffy, Colin Brown & Anthony Grehan.  It's available for download on the Marine group's publications webpage.

Dr. Liam Morrison joined the Griffith groundwater group research team. Visit his website for more infomation on his research interests.

November 2009

The Griffith groundwater group has a new PhD student, Marie Perriquet.  Her research will focus on groundwater modelling of the coastal karst regions of County Galway and County Clare.
