General Overview

Our research interests in biofluid dynamics, include applications to biology and medical devices. We have extensive experience in the development and application of both experimental and computational techniques, including novel mesh-free approaches to computational fluid dynamics. We collaborate with a number of partners in the medical devices industry.

This shows velocity (with arrows) and vorticity (the blue and red contours) in blood flow past the tip of prosthetic heart valve (black), measured using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
