Attention: repeat students who propose to re-sit examinations externally
If you are repeating examinations externally (see below for a typical example) it is most important that you indicate to the Department (in addition to the Dean of Science, Examinations Office, etc.) your intention to re-sit the examination. You are also strongly advised to maintain contact with the Department during the year (e.g. in November and again in February/March).
In your initial e-mail contact (e-mail:
Department of Botany), please provide the following information:
Name (as given when you registered initially)
Student no.
Contact points: e-mail address, home address, land and mobile phone numbers (if available)
Year when you first sat the examinations in question and your results
Details of any subsequent re-sits
Courses that you wish to be examined in (eg. BT206 and BT207)
Any particular concerns you may have (please be concise).
A typical example: you have taken 2nd year courses in the year 2003/04 and you propose to sit the examination(s) again during 2004/05 but are not registered for the relevant courses.
This applies especially to 2nd and 3rd year repeat students.
