Research stations
University research stations are located on the northern Burren coastline at Finnavara (southern side of Galway Bay) and at Carron, in the central Burren. Both are within easy reach of Galway city.

Finnavara field station
Finnavara is ideal for marine research and especially the study of seaweeds of rocky shores.
Carron field station
The larger Carron field station is located beside the village of Carron and the Carron polje. It can accommodate groups of up to 20 and includes laboratory/teaching area, separate diningroom and kitchen facilities.
