EXPLORE invites students and staff to work together on innovative projects to build a culture of innovation on campus.
EXPLORE is a new initiative by NUI Galway and the Students’ Union that offers students and staff the opportunity to work in equal partnership to enable sustainable innovation and change to take place on campus. Students and staff are invited to team up and work together on an innovative, sustainable project of their choosing over a period of two – five months. Up to €1,000 of funding is available for successful projects.

Projects can be staff or student led and can focus on any topic that involves NUI Galway campus life – social, technical, health, teaching, learning, sport, culture. Maybe you’re interested in employability, cross-campus provision, engagement in lectures, learning spaces, sustainability... the list is endless… whatever it is you have in mind,we want to hear from you. Participating students and staff should also be willing to share their project experiences on campus and will be invited to contribute to a group EXPLORE session in the coming months.

EXPLORE was born out of the Bright Ideas Firelighter Group and supported by Bright Ideas and the Students Projects Fund, NUI Galway Students Union. Prof. Chris Curtin, Vice President for Innovation and Performance, Bright Ideas added “NUI Galway is committed to improving the performance of the University by bringing about change through innovation. I welcome the partnership with the Student Union in delivering the EXPLORE initiative.
