epi - energy performance indicator

NUI Galway measures energy performance in a variety of ways, eg by energy type, by consumption, by activity, by cost and by carbon footprint.

One internationally recognised performance metric that is used to compare and contrast the performance of different buildings is the EPI - Energy Performance Indicator measured in kWhrs/m²/year.

This allows organisations to compare and contrast energy performance in all buildings using a universal measurement tool, energy per square meter area per year.
