Motor Insurance

NUI Galway provides Comprehensive Motor Insurance for drivers of the University’s motor fleet which are vehicles owned, operated, hired or leased by NUI Galway. 

This policy covers University staff and post-graduate students  who hold a full, clean drivers licence with no penalty points and have the permission of their Head of Unit to drive a University vehicle on university business.  A copy of each drivers licence should be submitted to the Head of Unit annually in September.

Temporary vehicles 
From time to time, staff / students may wish to hire a vehicle for University Business.  Any addition / deletion, temporary or otherwise, to the University’s motor fleet should be notified by email to insurancenuigalway.ie using the motor insurance alteration form below.   At least 24 hours notice is required in order for our insurers to be informed of any fleet adjustments.
