Invited VIPs, e.g., a Minister and their entourage, will be provided with full Security cover for their visit, with reserved spaces provided by Security appropriate to the group. All VIP visits must be organised via the Presidents Office and parking facilities should be discussed at that time with the Head of Security.

Reserved Visitors Parking

A Reserved Visitor Car Park has been created beside the existing car park in front of the Quadrangle. It is intended primarily as a replacement for the practice, operated though the President’s Office, of roping off areas behind the Quadrangle; the majority of visitors to the campus will continue to use the Pay and Display facilities. The initial policy for this car park is attached. Its operation will be reviewed, including the possibility of extending its availability more widely, once the pattern of usage under the initial policy is established. The car park has a number of moveable barriers, so that it can be restricted to as few as six places; the balance of the overall 27 places then operates as an extension to the existing car park.

This system is administered by Student Information Desk and applications for use of the Visitor carpark should be sent to sidnuigalway.ie
