"My experience here in Galway has accounted for so many great memories that I'll have for the rest of my life. Part of the success of my program was largely due to the staff here at NUI Galway and Corrib Village. Everyone has been so accommodating and helpful. All of the interactions I've had with the staff have been positive and they are more than happy to help you. Thanks so much for making my time here so enjoyable!"

Studying in Galway City
One of the most attractive university sites in Europe, the NUI Galway campus is located on the banks of the River Corrib, just a ten-minute walk from Galway city centre. This close proximity to Galway, one of the fastest developing cities in Europe and a thriving, bustling centre of culture and commerce, provides students with ready access to all the facilities one would expect of a modern, cosmopolitan city. Not only that, but it is a city packed with culture and heritage. Music, an array of summer festivals, horse racing, pubs, restaurants, shops, theatres and, most of all, Galway people, combine to create this atmospheric medieval city of culture. All of this ensures that leisure periods between classes are truly enjoyable, particularly as social options can be included for students.
All students will be based in Corrib Village, NUI Galway’s student accommodation, which is beautifully situated on the University campus overlooking the River Corrib. The complex, comprised of apartments, has capacity for 800 people and boasts a wide range of on-site facilities such as free Wi-Fi, a self-service laundrette, a convenience shop, tennis courts and a free shuttle bus service to the city centre. Guests can also avail of an on-site games room and a barbeque area for those long summer evenings. In addition, reception staff and security personnel are on hand 24/7 to ensure an enjoyable and hassle-free stay for all guests.
When it comes to catering, students are spoilt for choice, with 15 cafés/restaurants on campus. Meals can be pre-booked but students also have access to fully equipped kitchens in their apartments should they prefer to cook. The University also boasts state-of–the-art meeting facilities and a choice of lecture theatres, boardrooms and classrooms. Audiovisual/computer equipment is offered in addition to on-site technical support. Students at the University also have access to the internet, the James Hardiman Library and a wide range of sports facilities.
