Prior to joining the Business Information Systems group Chris worked as a self-employed Java/VBA programmer and IT trainer. This included working as a consultant Java SE application developer on an Enterprise Ireland CORD funded innovation project.

Chris has over ten years of experience in providing IT training within private companies and Irish/UK third-level institutions. He has also been employed as a Visual Basic for Applications Developer and as a Geographical Information Systems Manager.

In an academic context, Chris has worked as a pre- and post-doctoral Geographical Information Systems Research Associate on research projects for the University of Southampton, University of Wales, Lampeter, and University College London.

Chris’s current role includes teaching on the B.Sc. in Business Information Systems and teaching on/co-directing the MBS in E-Commerce.

Chris is currently in his second year of study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice with the Open University.
