Dr Michael Lang

Biography:
| Dr. Michael Lang has been a lecturer in information systems at NUI Galway since
1996, having previously worked for a number of years in industry. His research and teaching areas are information systems development; business systems analysis &
design; information systems security & ethics; and information
systems education. Dr. Lang's work has featured in a number of leading
international journals, including IEEE Multimedia, IEEE Software, Information
& Software Technology, Requirements Engineering, Information Systems
Management, Communications of the AIS, Journal of Information Systems
Education, and Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems. He has presented at numerous international workshops and conferences, being honoured on four separate occasions with “best paper” or “best overall
contribution” awards. He is currently serving on the editorial board of three
international journals and the executive steering committee of the
International Conference on Information Systems Development, and has acted as a
reviewer or associated editor for all the principal international journals and conferences within the
discipline of information systems. He is currently the Associate Head of
Teaching & Learning and also Head of the Business Information Systems group within the J.E. Cairnes School of Business &
