Welcome to the Discipline of Marketing. Established in 1980 there are now approximately 2,164 undergraduate and 120 postgraduate students studying Marketing.
The ethos of the Discipline has always been to combine a thorough grounding in Marketing as an academic subject, with a practical focus in preparation for careers in the field. Students learn about Marketing, but are also trained in the important core competencies for business. The Discipline enjoys close links with the business community through involvement of staff in its graduate placement programme and executive courses. Marketing also has strong links with professional bodies such as the Marketing Institute of Ireland, management training, consultancy and business conference presentations.
The Marketing Discipline offers specialisms in a range of programmes, including the B.Comm. Degree, the MSc (Strategic Marketing), MSc (Marketing Practice), Executive MBA, Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies programmes, together with service teaching in the Schools of Humanities, Medicine and the College of Engineering & Informatics.
The Discipline has a record for innovativeness; providing a wide range of stimulating and relevant courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive levels and a clear research focus in conjunction with the School's research centre, the Centre for Innovation & Structural Change [CISC].
