What are the entry requirements for the LL.B?
- BA in Law and B Corp Law graduates are automatically progressed to Final LL.B. There is no need to apply.
- BA (Public and Social Policy) are eligible to join Second LL.B but must apply.
- B.Comm. graduates with 25 ECTS of Law in the final year are eligible to join Second LL.B but must apply.
- All other graduates must apply for the Three Year LL.B programme.
How do I apply for a postgraduate programme?
You can apply online for law taught postgraduate masters on the NUI Galway Postgraduate Admissions Office website: //www.nuigalway.ie/courses/how-to-apply/
NUI Galway does not set a deadline for receipt of applications (some exceptions). Offers will be issued on a continual basis. Candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible to secure a place on their chosen postgraduate programme.
Are there any scholarships or funding available?
At NUI Galway, we are keen to ensure that the brightest and most committed students progress to postgraduate study.
Our generous postgraduate scholarships (valued at €1,500 per student) are designed to reward excellent students who have achieved first-class honours in their undergraduate studies.

What are the English Language Requirements for applicants whose first language is not English?
Please note a strong level of English is required for assessment through research papers, presentations and minor thesis.All applicants whose first language is not English must present one of the following qualifications in the English language for a postgraduate law programme:
IELTS - 6.5 Overall (No less than 5.5 in any component) or TOEFL - 8 or Pearson PTE - 61
