Dr Zoi Aliozi B.Law.,PhD
Dr. Zoi Aliozi is a human rights expert / lawyer / activist.
She is a committed human rights scholar that has managed to pursuit her international academic career through the continuous awarding of scholarships for talented students. In 2012, the University of Madrid awarded her the 1st prize for young philosophy researchers with an international background. She has been a human rights activist for more than a decade, raising human rights awareness through art, films, publications, teaching and advocacy, while she is collaborating with a number of human rights NGOs. She has been a film critic and jury member in the Venice Film Festival, where she awarded the Best Human Rights Film Award 2007. She organizes and participates in international film and art human rights related festivals.
Dr. Zoi Aliozi completed her basic education in Greek public schools, and moved to England where she studied LLB Law (2003). Parallel to Law school, she was certified in counseling psychology by the Central School for Counseling Training (CSCT) in London, UK. She studied civil law in Democritus University of Thrace in Greece, and holds a Master on Human Rights and Democratization from the European Inter-University Center in Venice, Italy (2006). She has also spent a year in the University of Seville, Spain (2007), in the faculty of international law. She received her PhD in political philosophy from LUISS University in Rome, Italy (2013), and has been a visiting scholar in the Philosophy Department of Georgetown University in Washington D.C., USA (2012).
