There are a number of supports available both on and off campus for those considering starting their own company.   ‌‌

Ignite Technology Transfer Office explores and facilitates commercial opportunities for the research community at NUI Galway, and facilitates industry partnership.

EntreSoc NUI Galway "The Entrepreneurship Society primarily promotes an environment that enables entrepreneurs to develop and expand their ideas."

There are a number of enterpreneurial competitions that are open to students - these could be a useful way to test out your idea, or to get a plan in place. See our Make the Most of University page for links.

Local Enterprise Offices have supports in place e.g., www.localenterprise.ie/Galway/ includes resources on setting up a business plan and direct financial assistance.

actionplanforjobs.ie has the Government's  SME support tool with over 80 Government supports available to Irish start-ups and small businesses. 

ISME also have links to supports available.

startup.ie is a site set up by enterpreneurs.
