We are always open to new ideas - so if you don't see what you are looking for listed below and have a new and innovative event you would like to host at NUI Galway please let us know - we would be delighted to help you organise it. 

Employer Presentations

Why not come on campus and advertise your student & graduate job vacancies directly to our student population? Academic Term only: mid-September/October/mid-November (Semester I) & late January/Feb/mid-March (Semester II)   

• Target individual classes, groups of students or hold open events to  maximise your audience.  
  - final year students for graduate programmes
  - penultimate year students for internship/vacation scheme opportunities
• We will help you organise all aspects of your event including: dates, venues, advertising and catering
  
• A wide selection of rooms are available on campus ranging from lecture theaters accommodating from 20 - 200 students in targeted venues on campus (e.g. College of Engineering, School of Law and School of Business) 
• All venues are equipped with audio visual equipment - data projectors & screens. We do however, recommend you bring your own laptop where possible.
• Reception areas for post/pre event. We do not organise catering for events however, we will provide you with assistance in making the right choice for your event! Visit  www.nuigalway.ie/administration_services/catering for all Catering providers at NUI Galway.

Careers Seminars & Employability/Skills Development Workshops

Looking for new, innovative ways of working with our students?

Why not get involved in...

• Enhancing our students employability by delivering a Skills Workshop (e.g. Team-building, Presentation and Time Management)
  
• Increasing our students success rate with in the labour market by helping them develop their CV and/or offering advice on interview techniques and preparation - selection of workshops available.  
  
• Participating in our series of "Your Degree in ..., What Next" and/or "Ask the Experts" career seminars.
  These events attract large student audiences and are tailored to individual Undergraduate Degree courses here in NUI Galway. For each event we have a range of speakers including Alumni of the University.The format for these events can be formal or informal covering topics including: Tell your own career story - Typical working day - The future - your thoughts - Advice on tips for entry - Q & A - Network with students

CV & Interview Preparation Workshops

Host one of our Monday night CV & Interview Preparation Workshop. Held during term only.

Workshops are presented by a range of industry professionals who have extensive experience in reviewing CV’s and interviewing job candidates. General and targeted workshops are available (e.g. Science, Engineering, Business or all disciplines)

Internships & Work Experience Careers Fair

This event provides the perfect opportunity for all graduate recruiters who hire students and/or recent graduates for internships, work experience or project based employment outside of Co-op Placements (whereby students are required to undertake a placement as part of their Degree Programme) to meet with NUI Galway undergraduate and postgraduate students across all academic disciplines.

Community Showcase & Volunteering Fair

The Fair is a collaborative effort between NUI Galway’s Student Services and the Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI).  The aims of the Fair include: recruitment of volunteers for projects within the University; recruitment of volunteers for projects with local or national organisations; and recruitment of volunteers for projects with international organisations.

Teaching Careers Fair

Are you involved in teacher recruitment?

Date:      Monday 18th February 2013
Time:      4pm - 7pm
Venue:   Orbsen Building, NUI  Galway

Held once a year in Spring this is the ideal recruitment event to come on campus and meet with our 'Teachers in Training' Postgraduate Diploma in Education class. Each year we have approximately 250 graduates from this programme all seeking employment.

This event is a one-stop-shop for schools, recruitment agencies, local authorities, VEC's to meet with potential employees. We can also organise presentation facilities and Interviewing rooms to help you with your recruitment.  

This event is also open to course providers offering the PGCE and Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) courses.
