Staff - Developing Courses and Programmes
The Career Development Centre can advise and comment on changes in the graduate labour market, and on the qualities and skills which employers are seeking.
This is often relevant to the development of new courses. The relevant member of the
Career Development Centre staff will reply promptly to such
requests.
You can organise career-related and accredited semester courses, seminars or workshops on particular issues, skills or topics with
Career Development Centre staff.
The Career Development Centre runs accredited courses in conjunction with departments and / or Colleges focusing on:
-
Employability skills (e.g. presentation skills, teamwork)
- Career
management skills (e.g. goal setting, self awareness, researching opportunities).
Full modules include class contact (workshops and seminars where student participation is required) and an additional period for independent study by students. Careers Education modules should ideally be fully assessed, accredited and certified. Modules can also be adapted to meet particular needs or circumstances of individual departments e.g. where students need preparation or employability skills for a work placement.
