Becoming a Medical Scientist (Biomedical Scientist)
To work as a Medical Scientist (Medical Laboratory Scientist) in a hospital laboratory in Ireland you need to meet the criteria set by the
Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists [AMLS].
It may be possible to join one of the listed programmes directly - you would need to contact the colleges to discuss requirements / dates etc.

The UK's regulatory body is the
Health Professions Council (look for Biomedical Scientists - there are 42 courses listed).
This list of courses includes those by Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), another body you need to register with in order to work as a Biomedical Scientist, and there is more information on their site about getting prior degrees recognised at

The
NHS may also have Traineeships in a hospital environment.
