In most areas of business, in order to progress in HR or Personnel, it will be necessary to enrol with Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development [ CIPD.ie]. Their website contains information on recognised courses and programmes. Some postgraduate programmes (including MSc Industrial Relations & People Management in NUI Galway) offer CIPD accreditation.
Some larger companies will have graduate training schemes that include positions for HR graduates. One example of a graduate programme is IBEC’s annual Graduate Programme for IR/HR (see sample jobs).
