Centre for Bioanalytical Sciences: GlycoScience
The Glycoscience team is headed by Prof. Angela Savage and consists of a Senior Scientist, Dr. Niclas Karlsson, three postdocs; Dr. Roisin Doohan, Dr. Peter Bystricky and Dr. Catherine Hayes. There are also two post-graduate students, Diarmuid Kenny and Samah Issa. We work closely with Dr. Marian Kane, Dr. Emilia Caputo and John Glavin MSc of the National Diagnostics Centre. Mass Specrometrist Brendan Harhan completes the team. Our administrative assistant is Siobhan Cunningham.
Our main project is funded by Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA). The aim is to develop rapid methods for glycosylation analysis of recombinant glycoproteins of interest to the Biopharmaceutical Industry. This work is being carried out in conjunction with Dr. Alan Ryder at NUI Galway and three groups in Dublin City University (
DCU). All together, these teams comprise the Centre for Bioanalytical Sciences (
CBAS).
