Professor Oddny Arnardottir, Reykjavik University, Iceland, co author of 'The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – European and Scandinavian Perspectives' gave a public lecture at NUI Galway on 11/09/2009, entitled: 'What does Equality Mean for Persons with Disabilities? Lessons from the new UN Treaty on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities'. A video podcast of the event is now online.
It was with great pleasure that the Centre for Disability Law and Policy hosted a public lecture on April 14th 2008 entitled ’The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - New Dawn or False Hopes?’. Guest Lecturer, Professor Jerome Bickenbach, kindly gave the lecture and discussed the concept of equality that underpins the new UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
