Prof. Jerome Bickenbach

Jerome Bickenbach is currently a member of the Disability Policy Unit, Department of Health Sciences and Health Policy, University of Lucerne and SPF, Nottwil, Switzerland Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPF), Nottwil, Switzerland ICF Research Branch, WHO FIC CC Germany (DIMDI) at SPF, Nottwil, Switzerland and at IHRS, Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany. Professor Bickenbach’s research areas include Disability epidemiology and disability ethics, law and policy. Professor Jerome Bickenbach worked with the World Health Organisation from 1995 to 2007, initially on the development and dissemination of the ICF with the Classification, Terminology and Standards Unit, and then on disability policy at the Disability and Rehabilitation unit. He has written extensively on disability epidemiology, definition and conceptual analysis, as well as issues in disability policy and law.
