Videoconferencing  NUI, Galway

CELT supports a number of Videoconference (VC) equipped venues around the university, including in a limited number of lecture theatres (ideal for international guest speaker programmes, conferences, etc).

This service is provided association with Computer Services and HEAnet, CELT provides access to IP (and, if required, ISDN) videoconferencing (VC) systems.

Videoconferencing Facilities

There is one main, general purpose VC room that can be booked (by emailing videoconferencingnuigalway.ie enclosing a VC booking form, provided below) by any member of staff. Our main VC studio is room SC200b in the Arts/Science Concourse although a number of other venues are available also (including a facility in the O'Flaherty lecture theatre).

How to book the VideoConferencing Facilities

To use these facilities you must complete a Videoconference booking form and submit this to videoconferencingnuigalway.ie as far in advance of the proposed event as possible.Please note the facility is not booked until you receive a confirmation email. This service is proving increasingly popular and therefore booking is essential.

The Cost of Video Conferencing

Using IP based videoconferencing does not lead to any call charges, but if you are connecting to an ISDN based system, then please bear in mind that this will cost the equivalent of 6 simultaneous telephone connections and can therefore be quite expensive.
