Blended & Online Learning Programmes from NUI Galway

A number of schools within the University and the Adult & Continuing Education Office currently offer Blended and Online programmes at various levels (some in partnership with other institutions).

Blended courses are those which are largely delivered online and through distance learning, but in which there are key components that must be undertaken either at the University or a designated centre. These components, for example, typically would include practical workshops, laboratory sessions, tutorials, etc.

The number and frequency of the on-campus components depends on the particular programme of study, but is scheduled to accommodate the needs of typical, part-time learners travelling to Galway. Some programmes are fully online and have no requirement to visit the University and these are available internationally.

Details of the various programmes can be obtained from the relevant School, Centre or unit.

The number of such programmes will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years with a number already under development.
