The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching
Welcome to the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT)
Our role in the university is to foster excellence in teaching and learning; promoting methods that encourage active learner engagement and critical thinking. We are research-led and participate in international organisations and fora in the areas of teaching, evaluation, technology and higher education research. Our work and the courses we offer are research-informed and our staff are engaged in a wide range of scholarly activities.
We have responsibility for: Academic Staff Development, Curricular Design and Innovation; and Learning Technologies and AV Systems.
CELT supports the professional development of academic staff and others in the broad area of contemporary academic practice, with a focus on teaching and learning. We provide a range of postgraduate qualifications, standalone (credit-bearing) modules, workshops, conferences and individual or group consultation.
