2020 Summer School
12th International Disability Law Summer School 15-19 June 2020 ** POSTPONED **
It is with huge regret the Centre for Disability Law and Policy (CDLP) announces the postponement of the 12th International Disability Law Summer School scheduled for the 15th – 19th June 2020. We are committed to running this program at a later date however, we cannot move forward with preparations given the current situation with COVID 19.
This has been a very difficult decision, but as the CDLP is committed to the advancement of disability rights, equality and accessibility it would be wrong of us to push forward with this event. We hope that the current situation resolves itself quickly however, in the face of a global pandemic it is impossible for so many people with or without disabilities to try and plan to travel internationally. It would be unfair and unjust of us to run the summer school.
We would like to reassure you that we fully intend to run the summer school at a later date, when it is possible to run it in a manner which is inclusive, and does not jeopardise the health of any of our participants.
We were particularly pleased with the depth of the faculty, the variety of panels and the range of expertise we were able to bring to the programme this year. We look forward to welcoming you all to Galway at a later date when we can guarantee the programme’s success.
We will share the details of the rescheduled summer school once we have a better idea of this situation.
Yours with solidarity,
Eilionóir, Maria and Catriona
