Primary Schools outreach program

The School of Chemistry in NUI, Galway run a Primary Schools Outreach program. This program is aimed at introducing primary school children to the exciting world of Chemistry. We hope to show that Chemistry can be fun and safe. To date, we have visited classes in

• Scoil Naisiunta, Oughterard
• Scoil Bríde, Shantalla
• St. James' National School, Bushypark
• Claregalway National School
• Scoil Iognaid (the Jes)

We have created a booklet for use by Primary School Teachers which is available here in PDF format. The booklet contains 19 easy and fun experiments, all of which can be performed using materials readily available in supermarkets or pharmacies. It also contains simple explanations of how each experiment works.

This booklet can be downloaded and printed for use in your school. It can also be viewed using Interactive Whiteboards.
