Bioanalytical Chemistry Cluster
This cluster is developing new analytical methods for applications in the Biopharmaceutical sector.
Currently the Nanoscale Biophotonics Laboratory (
www.nuigalway.ie/nanoscale) is currently working with researchers in the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson to develop novel spectroscopic and chemometric tools for the analysis of cell culture media. Several new projects in this area are under development and may be announced later in 2011.
Previous projects undertaken by the cluster include a large scale collaboration with Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) and DCU as part of the Centre for Bioanalytical Sciences (CBAS) which was funded by BMS and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA).
The areas being developed in Galway are:
Electroanalytical methods
Spectroscopy and Chemometrics
