The Child & Family Research
Centre is a partnership between the Health Service Executive
and
National University of Ireland, Galway. Based in the School of
Political Science and Sociology, the CRFC undertakes research,
education and training in the area of child & family care and
welfare.

The Centre’s
objectives are to:
Understand child and family needs by producing scientific
research and evaluations.
Improve services for children and families through: third and fourth level education;
better service design; and learning networks for service practitioners.
Build research capacity in family support through applying best practice methodologies,
developing researchers and supporting practitioner research.
Influence policy for children by engaging with researchers, policymakers, service
providers, children and their families.
