Ciara joined CISC as the recipient of a PhD Studentship in 2008. Her research examines the activities of technology transfer and commercialization from a third level perspective. Specifically, her research explores the strategy practices that underpin successful intellectual property exploitation in a third level context. Her research to date has afforded her the opportunity to showcase her studies, both to national and international audiences. She is an active member of both the Irish Academy of Management and the British Academy of Management.
Ciara graduated with a B.Sc. in Business Information Systems from University College Cork. In 2005 she was awarded a Master’s degree in Corporate Strategy and People Management from National University of Ireland, Galway where her MBs thesis examined Strategy as Practice in Top Management Teams using Ryanair and Musgrave Group as case studies. Prior to joining CISC, Ciara was a management consultant with Accenture where she gained valuable experience working on a multitude of projects for clients in the financial services sector.
Recipient of AUTM Foundation Graduate Student Literature Review Prize 2011. The winning review paper ’Legitimacy, Mission and Management: Key Strategic Challenges for Technology Transfer Offices’ will be recognised at the AUTM Annual Meeting whereby Ciara will receive an award plaque. The AUTM 2011 Annual Meeting takes place Feb. 27 – March 2 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ciara is invited to present her review at a special session at the AUTM Annual Meeting.
