Ralf Burbach has been affiliated with CISC in the capacity of Researcher since November 2002 on a collaborative project at the National University of Ireland, Galway funded by Enterprise Ireland under the Advanced Technologies Research Programme 2002 entitled 'eBusiness Enablement for Irish SMEs'. Ralf's research focuses on assessing and evaluating existing human resource capabilities and information systems with specific regard to virtual supply chains, threats and opportunities associated with integrating a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) with key personnel practices, with the ultimate goal of devising diagnostic audit tools for HRIS among SMEs. Ralf is currently working on his M.B.S. in HRM and Industrial Relations research dissertation, which explores the impact the use of HRIS have on people management strategies. He has recently also lectured ICT/HRIS on the M.B.S. in Corporate Strategy and HR programme in the Department of Management. Prior to this engagement Ralf pursued a career in the hospitality industry and also holds a Degree in Hotel & Catering Management from the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
